Iron hilt. Guard with two branches, one articulated and no langets. Round pommel. Handle entirely filigreed with braided steel. Steel ferrules with relief moldings. Sunburst-shaped chape. Straight blade with central groove, length 81.5 cm, engraved on its first third with the Arms of France, the sunburst, and the inscription "LONG LIVE THE KING" all framed with geometric designs; back of the blade engraved with an arrow, signature of Klingenthal. Scarlet cloth tie. Black varnished leather scabbard with two large steel mounts decorated with lines, 23.5 cm-long chape to which two steel suspension rings are soldered, 20 cm-long scabbard tip terminated by a drag. Black varnished leather belt measuring 3 cm wide, with silver-plated brass buckles. Silver passementerie strap with soft fringes known as "well ropes."
