Cuirass, model 1830 modified 1854. Made of steel plated with a sheet of brass, consisting of a backplate and a breastplate. The breastplate is edged with ten brass studs and lined with a brass sheet itself edged with six brass rivets. In the center, a iron glory in the shape of a radiant sun is fixed, on which is attached an oval brass badge stamped with an imperial eagle on a sandblasted background framed by laurel branches. The breastplate is marked "442" and stamped inside with "Manufacture Royale de Chatellerault June 1843 2T 1L No. 746".
The backplate is edged with six brass studs, lined with a brass plate itself edged with six brass rivets, adorned at the top with two leather straps covered with a double chain of interlaced round brass rings with a brass lock. The backplate is marked "506", stamped with "Manufacture Royale de Chatellerault March 1839 2T 1L No. 831". Brown leather belt with brass buckle.

Good condition, one broken leather strap but complete, belt complete but cut, the edges of the backplate have small holes.
