INFANTRY OFFICER BELT PLATE, 1848 model, Second Republic, Presidency of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, 1848-1852. Inventory number 27723
Rectangular brass plate with cut edges, dimensions 5.8 cm x 5.2 cm. It is adorned in the center with a silvered metal motif depicting a rooster perched on two bundles of fasces, a triangle, crossed hands, and a ribbon bearing the inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" (French Republic). It is complete with its backstud and hook, and lined with a burgundy waxed basane leather.
