Frédéric Koch reports to his commander on the results of the commission with which he was entrusted (the mission with which he was entrusted is unknown). He mentions documents that he was unable to find, that he contacted the Minister of War but everything seems to indicate that the said documents have been lost. "Nevertheless, we must not lose heart, send me, Monsieur and dear Commander, a new statement of your case with supporting information and I will ensure to obtain, willingly or unwillingly, a solution of some kind or a denial of justice..."
He concludes as follows: "There is nothing new in Madrid. The French still eagerly read about your brilliant operations, and the Spaniards with fury.
Farewell, Monsieur and dear Commander, believe in the inviolability of the feelings of attachment and respect that your long hardships and excellent qualities have inspired in me.
Signed: Frédéric Koch".
