AUTOGRAPH LETTER FROM AN OFFICER NAMED "HIDULPHE" TO "JULIE", Nassau-Biberich, November 2, 1813. 18856-25
A dense letter, with an address (the name has been crossed out) to "Madame d' xxx Rue des Vieilles Tuileries n° 38 Faubourg St Germain Paris." Postal mark "Bau SEDENTAIRE GRANDE ARMÉE." Red ink postal stamp dated "November 8, 1813."
He mentions being wounded at Leipzig. In Nassau, he received a sword blow, as did his horse. He hopes to find letters waiting for him in Mainz.

"Julie" seems to be his wife, as he writes "Embrace our child and receive all the millions of kisses I send you. I wish I could see you receive my letter, I wish I could share your joy... I revel in knowing you are reassured about my fate... Farewell, my dear and good friend, I repeat to you, but not yet enough for my soul, that I love you, that I adore you, and that all my life, your Hidulphe wants to live for you.
Signed: H."
