Brass hilt. Five-branched guard forming a shell and decorated with laurel branches and a medusa head. Short-tailed pommel. Ebony handle with filigree brass. Straight blade with hollow facets, length 94 cm, signed on the back "Officier de Cavalerie mle 1896 1re taille Manufacture Nationale d'Armes de Châtellerault 1906 GH", engraved on the front "E.S.M. 1907", and on the other side "Tir à la Carabine Baneu..". Scarlet cloth tie. Steel scabbard with one carrying ring.
