SHAKO TROOP OF THE SPECIAL MILITARY SCHOOL OF SAINT CYR, model 1887, Third Republic. 27825

Made of cardboard (10 cm high at the front, 13.5 cm at the back) covered in dark sky blue cloth, edged at the top with black varnished leather and at the bottom with a black varnished leather cap band. On both sides, two black varnished leather braids are sewn in a V-shape framing a sky blue lacquered brass ventilator placed at the top. Black waxed leather top. Round black varnished leather visor. Front plate made of embossed brass depicting a flaming bomb surmounted by a ribbon bearing the inscription "SPECIAL MILITARY SCHOOL". White iron cockade with colored lacquer rays. Interior lining composed of a black waxed leather band.

Plume falling in white and scarlet cock feathers, with scarlet wool pompon. Cardboard case covered with burgundy paper from Maison Manchon.
