ARTILLERY, ENGINEER, OR FIREFIGHTER CAP OF PARIS, NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER, model 1852, Second Empire. 29246-52
Cap described as a "police cap with a visor" on April 29, 1852.
Made of dark blue cloth, height at the front 12 cm, height at the back 19 cm. Band separated from the rest of the cap by scarlet cord sewn 3.5 cm from the bottom of the cap. Band adorned at the front with a cloth badge from the back of the cap, square in shape, on which a scarlet cloth grenade is sewn. Front face and side faces adorned with vertically sewn scarlet cord. Cap top in cloth with a diameter of 11 cm, bordered with scarlet cord. Leather visor with square edges, 5 cm wide.
Interior lining in black waxed leather cut into six sections.
