Octagonal breech then round barrel, length 30.8 cm, with a total length of 36 cm including the breech, caliber 17 mm, signed on the top flat "Regt Royal des Cravates". Flat body lockplate, marked "S. F." below a fleur-de-lys stamp from the Manufacture de Saint-Étienne around 1750, signed "FRANCOIS ...NELE". Swan neck hammer. Walnut grip with a long stock. All brass fittings, decorated with lines. Long-eared pommel. Laurel leaf cap. Wooden ramrod.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The Royal-Cravates cavalry regiment was a cavalry regiment in the Kingdom of France, later in the French Republic and the First Empire, formed in 1667 with remnants of Croatian regiments in service to France.
Creation and Different Names:
May 20, 1667: creation of the Royal-Cravates cavalry regiment
January 1, 1791: renamed the 10th cavalry regiment
September 24, 1803: converted into cuirassiers, becoming the 10th cuirassier regiment
1815: disbanded
