In the shape of a truncated oblique cone, frame made of strong cardboard covered in fine dark blue cloth, cap and leather lining in blackened varnished cow leather, cockade pressed in tin with the national colors blue-white-red. False chin strap made of flat chain composed of brass circular rings, interlaced two by two, held together by two round rosettes in brass stamped with a flaming bomb. Along the top border of the cap, fine gold trim in cul-de-dé, in the middle an orange wool band woven directly into the trim. On each side, V-shaped chevron in gold and dark orange wool trim and a black lacquered metal ventilator.
Embossed relief brass plate of the arms of the city Paris. Black varnished leather visor lined with green Morocco leather on the inside, brass ribbon folded over the outer edge.
Interior lining in black and glazed sheepskin with six wolf teeth, interior in black cloth marked "1728."
Scarlet woolen pompon.
