PAIR OF FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S PISTOLS SIGNED "BARTOLOMEO", Former Monarchy, 1680-1720. 30096
Octagonal then round barrels, slightly trombone-shaped at the muzzles, length 22.5 cm, with the breech tang 25.9 cm., calibers 13 mm. Barrels and lock tangs fully decorated in gold with a scatter of fleur-de-lis and leafy corolla motifs on a blued background, length of octagonal parts 9 cm. Locks signed on the back of the hammers "BARTOLOMEO", adorned with a mask on the lock tangs. Swan-neck hammers decorated in the round with a scroll, screw heads adorned with warrior busts. Circular steel pans. Walnut stocks, all fittings in steel. Trigger guards cut out with foliage. Pierced counter-plates, cut in the shape of scrolls and topped with antique monster heads. Pommels with a long ear rising 6 cm, with oval caps decorated in the round with the profiles of Kings Louis XIII and the young King Louis XIV.
Molded steel ramrod pipes. Wooden ramrods with steel fittings and horn heads with steel plates.
Total length of each weapon 36 cm.
Italian work for the Kingdom of France.
Former Monarchy, 1680-1720.
Very good condition, barrel colors have been refreshed at a later date.
