Body made of cardboard covered with fine dark blue almost black cloth, height at the front 15 cm, height at the back 19.5 cm. Trimmed at the top with scarlet braid, width 2.8 cm, and at the bottom with a black varnished leather chinstrap, height 2.7 cm; on each side, a scarlet cord is sewn between the chinstrap and the upper braid. Black varnished leather crown, diameter 13.5 cm. Visor with a rounded shape, black waxed leather on top and green underneath, width 5 cm. Tricolour painted metal cockade (diameter 5 cm). Front plate, model 1850, embossed in relief in the form of an uncrowned imperial eagle perched on a globe cut with the number "17" with oak branch, laurel and gleaming Jupiter's lightning bolt, height 13 cm, width 12 cm. Interior lining of black varnished leather cut in four wolf's teeth, inside of the shako lined with scarlet paper.
