Twisted barrel, model of the an IX musket but elongated, 102.7 cm, length with the breech tang 108 cm, caliber 17.5 mm, dated "1817," stamped with "DT" of the inspector Dombret, 1814-1818, "N" of the inspector Nottret, 1816-1818 and "H" with a star of the controller Hardy, 1814-1818. Breech tang with no decoration or inscription.
Lock plate of the an IX musket model engraved "Manuf Royale De Versailles," stamped "G" under Germain's star controller, 1812-1818, with a regular brass pan. All fittings are silvered brass, following the model of the an XIII rifle fittings but of lighter proportions (butt plate, sling swivel, side plate, hammers), all stamped with "H" of the second controller Hardy. Half-stock in demi-Charleville shape. S-shaped side plate. Butt plate with a return ending in a fleur-de-lis. Oval-shaped thumb piece, embossed with the Arms of France and the inscription "LONG LIVE THE KING."
Attribution plate on the stock cheek next to the lock plate engraved "Given By the KING to Mr. BEAUVAIS, François."
