In the so-called three-cornered shape, front part height 11 cm, rear part height 15.5 cm, made of napped felt, edged on each side of the corners with a woven silver braid in a point de hongrie pattern (3.3 cm wide), this braid itself is bordered by a festooned fringe in silver braid. Flat braid 4 cm wide, with a 4 mm black stripe in its center, ending in a point, approximately 12 cm long, bordered on each side similarly to the braid. Cockade in the colors of the tricolor, diameter 7.8 cm. Uniform button in silver metal stamped with a flaming bomb and the legend "Gendarmerie - Public Order." Inner headgear composed of a brown basane topped with a dark pink silk hot stamped in gold "CAROULLE & HEBERT - BRICARD / E. BIDAL / Successor. / 3 Rue Richelieu. PARIS." In the top part inside, two black lacquered metal clasps hold the black patent leather chin strap with black lacquered iron buckles.
