PAIR OF OFFICER'S FLINTLOCK PISTOLS, BY "DUMAREST À PARIS", Restoration. 30872

Octagonal rifled barrels, slightly trumpet-shaped at the muzzle, smooth and blued, stamped "LC", length 19.5 cm, with the breech 24 cm, caliber 17 mm. Flat flintlock plates, signed "DUMAREST à Paris". Walnut stock with a long grip. Finely checkered and sloped grip. Surroundings of the breech decorated with foliage. All fittings in polished steel cut and engraved with floral motifs. Octagonal caps decorated with a flower. Polished steel ramrod holders. Wooden ramrods with polished steel nail heads.
Total length of each pistol 33 cm.

Restoration period.
In good condition, pistols retained in their original state with barrels retaining their original bluing, very slight oxidation on the steel (easily cleanable).

NOTE:
DUMAREST, gunsmith-manufacturer in Paris from 1823 to 1850. During the Restoration era, he was located at 3 rue Française until 1830.
