Made of cardboard covered with black cloth, Height at the front 15.5 cm, Height at the back 19.5 cm, bordered at the top with a 2.5 cm wide scarlet braid, black waxed leather chin strap 3 cm high, black varnished leather crown 13 cm in diameter. Tricolor lacquered metal cockade, with a brass half-bell button in the center, with cannons and grenades embossed in relief, button holding a scarlet loop. Below the cockade, two crossed brass cannons surmounting a bomb in flames in brass are fixed. At the top of the back part of the shako, a uniform button with a small scarlet loop for attaching the chin cord is fixed. On each side of the shako, a scarlet braid chevron with a black stripe, 4 cm wide, is sewn; also on each side, a black lacquered metal ventilator is attached. Round-shaped black varnished leather visor, underside waxed green. Interior leather lining cut into six wolf teeth, inside of the shako covered in scarlet paper. Black varnished leather chin strap.
