"Bent barrel," based on the An IX model, thunder-gilt with Alphand stamp, blued along its entire length and marked in gold letters: "Garde du corps du Roi." Caliber 17 mm. Barrel length 19.9 cm, with the breech 24.7 cm.
Lockplate from the An XIII cavalry model with a slight raised edge at the battery, stamped with a crowned "B" of Daniel Bouissavy and signed "Maubeuge Manuf Rle", guilloché screws.
Stock with a highly slanted grip ending in a straight bulge topped with a cap.
All fittings in gilded brass, with the underguard ending in a fleur-de-lis, and the pommel of the grip in the shape of a relief-molded ellipse of the Arms of France. Iron ramrod.
