Leonard Vilmonté mentions his health, that of his loved ones, and talks about a family matter to settle with his sister.

"In Porte Ferare on the Island of Elba, November 18, 1814."
"My dear brother, I am writing this letter to inform you about my health which is very good, I hope that yours finds you in the same state [...]
"I received your letter dated September 8, 1814, which gave me great pleasure. I am delighted that my cousin Leonard Marcout has returned from captivity in England, and I hope that one day we will all be together in our homeland.
Please, in your letter, let me know the name of my sister Leonarde Vilmonté. In the 21 years that I have been in service, we have unfortunately lost our father and mother. I request to obtain permission to share our property, or else justice will have to determine the division of your property. I finish by sending you my heartfelt embrace [...]
Your brother, Leonard Vilmonté, grenadier."
