"I received your letter dated September 8, 1814, which gave me great pleasure. I am delighted that my cousin Leonard Marcout has returned from captivity in England, and I hope that one day we will all be together in our homeland.
Please, in your letter, let me know the name of my sister Leonarde Vilmonté. In the 21 years that I have been in service, we have unfortunately lost our father and mother. I request to obtain permission to share our property, or else justice will have to determine the division of your property. I finish by sending you my heartfelt embrace [...]
