Letter with the address of his friend "To Mr. / Mr. Antoine Loup at his father's / Merchant / In Révélé / Department of Haute Garonne." Postmark in red ink and remnants of a red wax seal. Elisée Terson de Palleville is a student at the Polytechnique. It is the impassioned letter of a future young officer full of eagerness to go to war.
"... As for me, I hope to soon wear the epaulette as we are being led to believe that there will soon be a promotion of 60 or 80 artillery officers.... Ah my friend,... the profession of war is a noble one and I do not make plans for the future from the moment I begin to be daily exposed to enemy battery fire [...]."
He mentions his cousin Laurent Isidore de Terson, 22 years old, captured at Bavosa near Cadiz on March 5, 1811, a sub-lieutenant in the 8th infantry regiment, and a prisoner in Scotland.
