Gilt brass hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with a flower framed by fleur-de-lis and the sparkling thunderbolt of Jupiter, crosspiece adorned with a large royal crown, double straight quillon ending at each tip with a fleur-de-lis in the round. Rounded pommel molded with foliage and flutes. Wooden grip entirely filigreed with gilt brass. Ferrules molded with laurel leaves. Strong hilt bearing in the center a large fleur-de-lis and, on either side, the motto of the knight Bayard: "SANS PEUR SANS REPROCHE" (Without Fear Without Reproach); chiseled counter-guard folded upwards, with a fleur-de-lis on a radiant background. Triangular blade, engraved and gilded on its first third with trophies of arms and floral decorations on a blued background, length 85 cm. Leather scabbard with two gilt brass fittings, oval chape button adorned with a fleur-de-lis.

Perfect condition, tip of the scabbard is period but not original to the model.
NOTE:
This spectacular sword model is from the Manufacture of Versailles, although not definitively identified, according to authors and specialists, it can possibly be attributed to the King's Guards, Gendarmes, or Chevau-Légers of the King's Military House.
We lean towards the Chevau-Légers due to the single fleur-de-lis represented on the strong hilt, on the chiseled counter-guard on a radiant background, reminiscent of the frontal plate of the helmet of this same company.
