Brass hilt. Guard with three branches, main branch marked "1149", with now illegible hallmarks. Cap with a short tail. Handle made of wood covered with black waxed calf leather filigreed with brass. Curved blade with hollow edges, length 91.5 cm, flat back with signature "Manufre Impale Châtellerault March 1853", blade stamped but difficult to read. Natural leather tie. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
Buff leather sword knot, cavalry model. Complete with two slides. Hot-stamped (difficult to read). Total length 52 cm, cord width 2.5 cm.
Buff leather belt, height 3.7 cm, with three brass rings (Ø 5.4 cm) closing at the front with two rectangular brass buckles closing with an S-shaped hook, buckle height 5 cm, width 2.6 cm. Hot-stamped "1864" and marked "553" with the regiment's "12e Chass" hot stamp. Complete with two saber suspension straps and saber hook, each suspension strap width 2.5 cm.
