Round barrel with side flats at the breech, engraved on the side "82" (1782) and stamped "B" under the crown of the controller Berthéas Fils, 1777-1785, length 18.7 cm, length with the breech tang 21.2 cm. Walnut stock, butt marked "July 1782", with "B" under the fleur-de-lis of the controller Boulanger in St Étienne from 1763 to 1784, and a "D" from the captain of artillery inspector Dauzel de Rouvroy, 1781-1786. Trigger guard. Brass cap and lock. Lock plate signed "St Etienne" stamped with the crowned "L" of Étienne Lambert, controller from 1777 to 1784. Interior of the lock engraved "PHII. CMIN". Flintlock mechanism. Steel ramrod with nail head. Originally designed for use by dragoons with a belt hook.
