FUSILIER'S SHAKO OF THE 45th LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT, model 1860, Second Empire. 27745

Made of black polished leather, reinforced structure in the upper part with a leather band (width 1.5 cm), an identical chinstrap (width 2.3 cm), and on each side with two leather straps (width 2 cm) sewn in a V-shape with a black lacquered metal ventilator at the top center. Square visor made of black polished leather, green polished interior, width 4 cm.
Brass plate embossed with the crowned imperial eagle, positioned on a globe cut out with the number "45" and a sparkling Jupiter's lightning bolt, H 12 cm, width 11 cm. Tricolor lacquered metal cockade, diameter 5.3 cm.
Inner cap composed of a black basane band.
H of the shako at the front 13 cm, at the back 18.5 cm.
Green horsehair plume with a tulip-shaped brass olive pompom. Total height 16 cm.

Good condition, bottom of the shako and cap worn with some leather losses.
