HELMET OF THE FIREFIGHTER TROOP OF THE COMMUNE OF RETHEL, type 1885, Third Republic. 24537

Helmet entirely in brass. Helmet crest with prominent moldings decorated at the front with a grenade with four small ventilation holes, fixed with eight screws. Front plate in embossed brass depicting a shield with a flaming grenade, topped with a city crown and framed by oak and laurel branches, ribbon bearing the inscription "FIREFIGHTERS OF RETHEL." Square-sectioned plume holder. Black leather chin strap.
