FIREMEN'S HELMET FROM THE COMMUNE OF CHÂTELLERAULT, type 1885, Third Republic. 24521

Helmet entirely made of brass. Crest with prominent moldings decorated at the front with a grenade with four small ventilation holes, attached with eight screws. Front plate made of embossed brass showing a shield with a flaming grenade, topped with the city crown and framed with oak and laurel branches, ribbon bearing the inscription "FIREMEN OF CHÂTELLERAULT." Square-sectioned plume holder. Black leather chinstrap.
