Brass hilt. Guard with four branches, with main guard branch numbered "636" and stamped "44", "B" starred in a shield of the second-class controller F.A. Bisch, February 16, 1844, to January 25, 1861, and "L" in an oval of the director of the Châtellerault manufacture Le Caruyer de Lainsecq, August 6, 1859, to March 13, 1862. Short-tailed cap. Handle made of wood covered with black waxed calf and brass filigree. Straight blade with gutters, back of the blade signed "Mre Impale de Châtt frères 1860 = Carabier mle 1854", length 105 cm. Brown leather knot. Iron scabbard with two belt bracelets similarly numbered to the saber.
