Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with foliage. Crossguard with small rings. Two-piece shell guard with scallop shell quillon and framing moldings with acanthus leaves. Round pommel decorated with the face of the sun on a radiant background. Wooden grip entirely filigreed with gilded brass. Triangular white blade, 78 cm long. Scarlet wool knot. Black varnished leather scabbard with two gilt brass fittings decorated with lines and foliage, with scalloped edges. Officer's dress lanyard entirely in golden passementerie, with soft fringes called "cordes à puits."

Good condition, sword in very good condition, leather of the scabbard with folds and repairs, break in the leather near the chape, tip of the scabbard changed from the period.
