REPRODUCTION OF A SABER FROM THE NAVAL BODY OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD "MARINS DE LA GARDE", model 1804, 20th century. 30114
Saber entirely made of brass with a leather scabbard, the model of which was created in 1804 by the swordsmith DUC.
Guard with a single branch, outer ear in the shape of a shield engraved with an anchor, the guard branch ends with a ball quillon. The crossguard is hollowed out underneath. Cap with a short tang. Wooden handle covered in leather with a braided filigree in brass. "DUC" stamps struck on the quillon.
Curved blade with hollowed edges from Klingenthal, 69 cm long with a strong beveled point. The hollowed edges are engraved on each side with "GARDE IMPÉRIALE" in large cursive letters in a roped cartouche, anchor, and palmettes, with a flat back.
Black waxed leather scabbard, three brass fittings, chape, central bracelet, tip with a brass dart, brass rings. Brass ring studs for the shoulder straps.
