Typical one-piece bronze hilt for this model. Single-branch guard. Ribbed grip with 19 strands. Curved blade with hollow and guttered facets, length 57.6 cm.

Poor condition, oxidized blade likely replaced at the time, without scabbard.

The infantry sabres model 1776 were widely reused during the revolution.
