Round in shape, in silver, signed “E.F.”, representing on the obverse the effigy of the Emperor crowned with laurel, framed by the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR” and bordered by a laurel wreath. On the reverse, inscription “ITALY CAMPAIGN - 1859” framing the name of the battles of “MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO”. Diameter 2 cm.
Double ribbon 1.5 cm wide, half in scarlet silk, and the second half in the color of the commemorative medal of the Mexican campaign created in 1863.
