Star with five double white enameled rays with buttoned tips in gilded silver, diameter 6.2 cm. Surrounded by a vegetal wreath formed by a branch of oak and laurel leaves linked between the lower tips, enhanced with translucent green enamel, H 3.6 cm, width 3.3 cm. Center in two parts, obverse side featuring the effigy of the Republic with head turned to the left on a sandblasted background, bordered by a deep blue enameled band with the legend "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE – 1870". Reverse side showing two crossed French tricolor enameled flags, bordered by a blue band with the motto "HONNEUR ET PATRIE".
Suspension loop made of a crown of two branches of oak and laurel leaves, connected by ribbons.
Scarlet ribbon.

Good condition, gilding absent, one tip twisted with enamel loss. Original enamel replaced on three branches, one on the obverse side, two on the reverse sides.
