Brass frame. Guard on one branch hallmarked with a rooster (hallmark for revolutionary productions from 1793) and signed “VARNIER A PARIS. ". Long-tailed cap. Calfskin-covered wooden handle. Curved blade with hollow sides punched with lictors' beam, length 81.4 cm. Wooden scabbard covered in black waxed leather with two large brass fittings with iron rings, just like the stinger.

Good condition, blade with oxidation from use, leather of the scabbard split on the left side.
