Brass-gilt hilt. Guard with two branches forming a shell at the front decorated with a naval anchor surrounded by reeds and oak leaves. Cap with long tail decorated with floral motifs. Horn grip. Brass ferrule with a small ring for the sword knot. Slightly curved white blade with fullers and hollow-ground edges, convex false edge, ridged back, length 61.7 cm. Back signed "Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal." Scarlet cloth knot. Black patent leather scabbard with three gold-gilt fittings richly decorated in relief with naval anchors and foliage. The drag has a suspension ring and a floral-shaped button for wearing on the belt. The central fitting has a suspension ring.
