GENERAL OFFICER BELT PLATE model 1922, Third Republic. 24597

Double buckle in gilded metal embossed with the head of Medusa, bordered by a prominent frieze, connected by an S-shaped hook representing a serpent. Diameter 5.1 cm. Lining in black waxed leather.
The gilded metal plates model 1922 are specific to the different "gilded" units, such as infantry, artillery, Foreign Legion, engineering... and intended to be worn with khaki uniforms with gilded buttons.
