OFFICER'S CUIRASS CHESTPLATE FOR CUIRASSIERS, first type 1804, First Empire.
Made of polished steel.
The chestplate is bordered with 32 brass rivets, with 4 missing. Additionally, there are 2 raised rivets on the chest for attaching the shoulder armor locks. Its lower part is pointed, and the chestplate is strongly curved in the style of 18th-century cuirasses, with the riveted parts highlighted by characteristic engraved lines typical of officer's cuirasses of the first type 1804. It is inscribed at the top under the central rivet with "406."

Very good condition, missing 4 rivets, reinforcement weld at the left shoulder.
NOTE:
This model of officer's cuirass is the rarest of the First Empire, with very few examples that have survived.
