CARTRIDGE BOX OF OFFICER OF THE KING'S GUARDS-DU-CORPS, model 1814, RESTORATION. 22355
Black patent leather cartridge pouch 18.4 cm long at the bottom of the bracket cut into an accolade and 17 cm at its upper part, 13 cm high and 4 cm thick; behind the box in the upper part is sewn with a wide strip of leather in which engage the two ends of the banner.
The tab is bordered by a silver-plated copper strip imitating a striped braid (width 0.7 cm).
At the center of which is fixed the face of the sun on a radiant background in silver-plated copper. This emblem measures 87mm wide and 64mm high.
Under the box are three silver brass buttons, the middle one to fix the tab, and the others to attach the ends of the banner. The interior of the box is made of wood, with nine holes for cartridges.
Weight 396 grams.
Restoration.
Perfect state of conservation.
NOTE :
This box of cartridge cases is rare, it is not mentioned in the uniform regulations of the King's Bodyguards.
The 1814 model cartridge box is similar to this example, however the flap is covered with cloth in the company's color, and the flap framing strip is decorated with fleur-de-lys in the corners.
The model 1820 box is also in black patent leather, but the sides are in silver with rings on the sides to attach the hooks of the shoulder strap.
Our copy is therefore of the first model, it is a high quality production which must be attributed to an officer.
