COURT SWORD IN SILVER, reign of Louis XV, Old Monarchy, circa 1735-1740.
Asymmetrical "rococo" style silver hilt, bearing three hallmarks (likely the ox head discharge mark), fully decorated with palm leaves and acanthus leaves. Single branch guard. Oval-shaped pommel. Quillon with small steps, shell guard.
Diamond-sectioned blade with double cutting edge, 2.6 cm at the base, engraved with geometric patterns and an armed justice motif on the first third. Blade length: 79.6 cm.
