OFFICER'S CUIRASS PLASTRON, first type 1804, First Empire.
The plastron is bordered by 32 brass nails emphasized by a punched line on the steel itself, a feature that distinguishes officer cuirasses, and 2 raised nails under the chest for attaching the shoulder straps. Its lower part is pointed with a very pronounced busk, still in the spirit of 18th-century officer cuirasses, characteristic of the first model cuirasses.
The plastron is punched with "420" at the top center on the front.
France.
First Empire.
In very good condition despite some oxidation from use, 7 rivets are missing on the outer border, and there is a saber strike on the busk in its central part.
