With an additional 1000 buttons, this second series weaves the ties between generations. The order follows the findings, the methodical inventory undertaken over many years of collections of livery buttons. Here, one can see the button of the father, grandparents, as well as those of the children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts already glimpsed in the first series. Entire families are reconstructed. One tracks the bright social successes, sometimes the setbacks. The transmission of properties can be perceived, some of which have disappeared. One meets singular characters, some adventurers, kings, emperors. One witnesses dramas, including the horrifying fire of the Bazar de la Charité (1897). In a striking temporal shortcut, one notices the presence of a Terror guillotined victim and that of almost contemporaries. Thus, some of the button holders presented here would have known the last carriages and... May 1968.
