COURT SWORD IN STEEL MARCASITE, reign of Louis XVI, Ancient Monarchy, from 1780 onwards.
Hilt entirely crafted in steel marcasite. Guard with a faceted branch decorated in the middle with beaded and pierced rods. Cruising knot with diamond-point nail decoration. Oval faceted pommel with raised nail decoration. Fully metallic faceted grip. Pierced steel cruise decorated with foliage and nail decoration worked similarly to the cruising knot. Triangular white blade, 76 cm in length, engraved with floral motifs on its first third. Without scabbard.

Good overall condition, oxidized blade, no longer riveted to the pommel but the hilt is complete and intact.
