COURT SWORD IN MARCASITE STEEL, reign of Louis XV, Ancient Monarchy, circa 1760-1770.
Marcasite steel hilt with entirely pierced decoration. Single-branch guard. Crosspiece with dumbbell design. Bivalve clamshell. Round-shaped pommel. Handle made of wood entirely filigreed with silver. Triangular blade measuring 81.7 cm in length, engraved and gilded on its first third with floral motifs and a military trophy on a blued background; it is signed at the base "Solingen S.H.J.". Scarlet cloth knot. Without scabbard.
