OFFICER SHAKO PLATE OF THE 136th LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT, 1812 MODEL MODIFIED 1814, First French Empire. 19755-1
Gilt brass plate (or badge) with a burnished agate stone protrusion (height 6.3 cm, width 11.3 cm) representing a crowned imperial eagle that was cut during the First Restoration in 1814, placed on a base with the brass number "136" in guilloché style attached and riveted in the center (height of the numbers: 2.6 cm), framed by two lion heads with foliage branches and a grooved lower molding.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 136th Infantry Regiment (136e RI) is an infantry regiment of the French Army created under the First French Empire from four cohorts of the first ban of the National Guard.
January 14, 1813: Creation of the 136th Line Infantry Regiment
May 12, 1814: The regiment is disbanded
Comprising around 3,500 men, it was mobilized and joined the 3rd army corps, with which it participated in the German Campaign and fought in the battles of Lutzen and Bautzen, and from October 16 to 19 at the Battle of Leipzig where it distinguished itself for its bravery.
During the 1814 Campaign of France, the regiment was present at the battles of Montmirail, Vauchamps (February 14, 1814), Claye, Meaux, and on March 30 in front of Paris. A battalion fought in the siege of Soissons in March-April 1814.
On May 12, 1814, during the First Restoration, the 135th Line Infantry Regiment was disbanded, and in accordance with Article 5 of the ordinance of May 12, 1814:
- The 1st and 2nd battalions were incorporated on August 16 into the 59th Line Infantry Regiment.
- The 3rd, 4th, and 5th battalions (depot) into the 59th Line Infantry Regiment on July 1.
The number 136 ceased to exist and remained vacant until the decree of October 28, 1870, which transformed the 39 marching infantry regiments into numbered Line Infantry Regiments from 101 to 139.
