CUIRASS TROOPER OF CUIRASSIERS, model 1825, Second Empire. 20646-2
Made of cast steel, oil-quenched and tempered to a blue hue on a sand bath. Curved form at the waist, flared base; breastplate forming a busk, with a pronounced ridge on the back. The breastplate is adorned with ten brass rivets. Markings on the breastplate of the Imperial Manufacture of Châtellerault, 1859, 2nd size, 2nd width, no. 1437, registered 376.
Backplate with two shoulder straps made of black cow leather, adorned with two brass chains; the body is finished with a brass buttonhole plate with a heart-shaped leather end; the shoulder strap holder is made of brass with three rivets. Leather belt with brass roller buckle. The backplate is marked by the Imperial Manufacture of Châtellerault, April 1860, 2nd size, 2nd width, no. 272 and registered 268.
In fairly good condition, oxidation to be cleaned.
