BIOGRAPHY:
Jacques MARMANDE, born in Paris on October 31, 1938. After obtaining his high school diploma, he joined Claude Bernard to pursue teaching drawing, which led him three years later to Aix en Provence. One of his educational advisors was Louis Frégier. Thanks to this teacher, he met Mr. Jean Brunon and his son Raoul Brunon, who allowed him access to their fabulous collection located in Marseille. Their expert advice helped him successfully complete a monograph on the Imperial Guard cavalry of the First Empire, a necessary supplement to obtain the CAPES in drawing and plastic arts at that time. He taught drawing in Blois for 33 years.
He exhibited for several years at the Painters at the Army Salon at Les Invalides (he received a special jury prize at his first participation).
An article was dedicated to him in "TRADITION magazine" No. 157, June 2000.
