OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE 6th REGIMENT OF LIGHT HORSE, Consulate - Directory.
Iron hilt. Single-branch guard, guard branch engraved with a hunting horn. Crosspiece engraved on each rectangular ear with a coat of arms with the number "6" topped with a ribbon forming a bow and at the bottom two laurel branches. Cap with a short tail. Handle in horizontally fluted ebony.
Curved blade with hollow edges, back with a ridge, ending in a carp tongue, length 86 cm. On one side, it is signed at the base "Coulaux Frères Entrepreneurs" in a gilded cartouche, the first third engraved and gilded with a cartouche bordered at the top with a trophy of musical instruments and at the bottom with foliage wreaths, in the center a trophy of arms and a civic crown, all on a blued background. On the other side, the gilded cartouche at the base is signed "Manufacture d'Armes Blanches de Klingenthal", the first third engraved and gilded with a cartouche bordered at the top with a military trophy and at the bottom with foliage wreaths, in the center a trophy of musical instruments and a banner and a hunting horn, all on a blued background.
Iron scabbard, scabbard entrance reinforced with a protruding cup, plain iron belt loops.
Perfect state of preservation, the blade has retained all of its original colors. Minor oxidations.
