In the shape of a truncated cone, made of strong cardboard covered with sky blue cloth, bordered on the top part with a 2.4 cm wide galloon woven in Hungarian point known as lizard pattern in golden passementerie, sides of the cap adorned with the same chevron-shaped galloon with sky blue piping (chevron width 3.5 cm), black varnished leather chin strap, front plate in gilded brass depicting a flaming grenade over a banner with the inscription "SPECIAL MILITARY SCHOOL." Triple cockade in white metal, painted in the tricolor colors blue-white-red.
On the sides, ventilators in painted tombac copper matching the color of the cloth background.
False chinstrap with a gilded and chiseled brass chain, held by two rosettes stamped with a flaming grenade. Black varnished leather visor encircled with a folded gilded brass braid overlapping the outer edge, lined with green waxed leather.
Interior cap in black leather, crown lined with ochre leather marked with the size in pencil "56 1/2." Black leather labels printed in silver: "Henri BRUN CLERMONT-FERRAND," "Capelius."
Full Dress plume, known as "Casoar," with two-thirds of drooping white rooster feathers and one-third scarlet in the lower part.
Perfect condition except for slightly oxidized galloons.
