HORN BOX DECORATED WITH A MAHMELUKE OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, mid-19th century. 14810

Made of black horn, H 2.4 cm, L 9 cm, W 5.4 cm.

The lid is adorned with a painted miniature in color, measuring L 7.8 cm, W 4.5 cm, depicting a Mameluke holding his horse by the bridle against an oriental landscape background. The miniature is under glass, bordered by a thin strip of gilded brass.
