BEDSIDE OR GERMAN PAGE SWORD, SECOND HALF OF THE 18TH CENTURY.
Gilt bronze hilt. One-branch guard intricately chiseled with flowers and gadroons. Round-shaped pommel decorated similarly to the guard. Grip in faience on a white copper grip adorned with polychrome painted decorations, on one side depicting a cavalryman sabering infantry soldiers and on the other side showing a cavalry clash. Both decorations are surrounded by moulures with pink floral motifs, the rest of the handle is painted with flowers.
Lozenge-shaped white blade, length 68.5 cm. Without scabbard.
Good overall condition, minor damage at the top of the grip, blade with oxidation from use.
