BIOGRAPHY:
FOUILLÉ Georges, Jean, Clément. Born in 1909 in Paris, died in 1994 in Leucate.
Appointed as official marine painter in 1947. Originally destined for the navy, his health forced him to give it up. Georges Fouillé then turned to maritime painting, appointed as a full-fledged marine painter, he sailed on the Richelieu in 1949.
Georges Fouillé wanted to combine art with historical research. He brought to his work a historian's precision.
He also made lead soldier figurines as well as dioramas and models.
