The invention of the revolver marks a significant milestone in the history of firearms. However, this weapon also haunts the public imagination. All military personnel around the world have carried revolvers! This weapon has a very rich history where cowboys, military personnel, and police officers intersect. This book, filled with anecdotes, narrates the evolution of this mythical weapon from the first flintlock cylinders to the monstrous 500 Magnums of today. It takes us to various countries from Brazil, where the Ranging Bull reigns, to Africa, where the English and French carve out empires with Webley or Saint Etienne in hand, and through Italy, where copies of Wild West revolvers and prototypes of the future are conceived. In addition to the history of this weapon, this book offers an overview of current revolver manufacturing, from small defense models to powerful silhouette shooting models.
